Based in the west end of London, Ward Property Consultants was established in 2018 by Richard Ward, a Chartered Surveyor with many years’ experience.

Richard started his career as an Assistant Asset Manager for Town Centre Securities PLC in Leeds with responsibility for numerous assets across all sectors and with a wide geographic spread across the UK.
After heading back to University to conclude his studies, (followed by some time spent travelling the world), Richard returned to the UK and moved to London in 2000 to embark upon his agency career. His first position was working for the retail agency team of King Sturge (now JLL) before moving to Cushman and Wakefield Healey and Baker in 2002 to join their southern high street team. In 2006 he moved to the Cushman and Wakefield Capital Markets team focusing on the high street investment market.
In 2008 Richard moved to the niche retail practice, Harmer Ray Hoffbrand, where he worked for ten years, before leaving the firm as a Partner and establishing Ward Property Consultants in 2018.
Despite his background being primarily in the high street retail and leisure sectors Richard has found himself increasingly involved in mixed use developments including residential, hotel and student housing schemes as well as retail and leisure uses.
During his years in practice Richard has advised a wide cross section of private investors, developers and pension funds on their property assets, whether that be on sales, acquisitions or asset management initiatives.
He has also advised retailers such as Costa Coffee, Molton Brown, Fat Face, JD Sports, Laithwaites, Stylo Barratt and Sainsbury’s Local on acquisitions, disposals and developments. He has an in depth knowledge of the market from both an occupier and a landlord’s point of view, a valuable insight which has benefitted numerous clients over the years.
